It's a big database: > 8 gb. We compacted it, reindexed and verified
it. All amazingly fast on this high-end xServe with SDD drive. Still,
that didn't change anything.
If we execute the exact same method from a client machine instead of
on the server, it creates about 300 records a second - in spite of
having the network overhead. When run on the server, we're only
getting about 8 records a second - in spite of no network overhead.
This seems to be some sort priority/scheduling thing with 4D Server.
We're only seeing the process get around 0.5% of the cpu when executed
on the server. If I run the same method from the client side, it gets
about 8% of 4D Server's cpu.
